For over 25 years, Outreach has walked alongside youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, empowering them to achieve stability and life transformation. In addition to providing for basic needs, they provide coaching to help youth create individual goals using their core values of relationship, advocacy, and sustainability. Their Youthlink program connects youth and young adults in Marion County with housing, and Youthlink’s Diversion program mediates and advocates for young people to prevent them from becoming homeless.
Ways to be Involved:
- Become a Relationship Builder: Create positive and healthy relationships through conversation and your presence. Jump in as needed to help with their clothing pantry, applications, greeting youth, and young adults/visitors.
- Be a Kitchen Hero: Prep and serve breakfast or lunch and help them maintain their kitchen – can be grab and go, or you are welcome to cook.
- Provide a meal: Cook, serve, and clean up a homemade breakfast or lunch (particularly Fridays), or dinner for their Thursday Night Bible Study at their Program Center or for their Tuesday Night Meal at their satellite location (IMPACT Old Southside, 1431 S. Meridian).
- Use their website’s Greatest Needs List, one of their Amazon Wishlist, or consult with their Volunteer Manager to organize a collection/donation drive.
