The ZPC Mission Commission provides lay lead oversight and leadership of ZPC mission ministries. It strives to equip and send disciples into our broken world to be witnesses of Jesus Christ. In doing so, it also stewards mission funds to partners around the world. The Mission Commission is made up of the ZPC Missions Chairperson, representatives from several sub-teams, and at-large members. The sub-teams of the Mission Commission are always looking for interested people to serve.

Alternative Christmas Market

Philana Cunningham [317.733.0838]

The ZPC Alternative Christmas Market offers a unique alternative to the commercialism that has come to define the Christmas season. Instead of making retail purchases, shoppers at the market make financial contributions to one of the represented charities in honor of those on their shopping list. In lieu of an actual gift, the recipient will receive a special card to inform them of the gift that was given in their name. An insert in the card further describes the charity to which the contribution was made. These “alternative gifts” not only show the love of Christ to the recipients, but the financial contributions to the various organizations continue to spread his love throughout the world.

Operation Christmas Child

> Joyce Vogt [317.846.1893]

Frontpage-OperationChristmasChildImagine the childlike joy of your children as they open their presents on Christmas morning. Now imagine that joy magnified ten-fold as a child in a war-torn country, who has never received a present, opens a shoe box overflowing with gifts. This project of the Samaritan’s Purse, operated by Franklin Graham, not only delivers Christian relief to hurting children around the world, but each shoe box contains the story of Jesus in their own language. This is a wonderful activity for families with children of all ages to join together in sharing the love of Jesus at Christmas.

Thanks to all of the ZPC families who contributed shoeboxes to Operation Christmas Child. ZPC will make Christmas a very special day for 223 children this year. For many children this will be the only Christmas Gift they will receive, but what a blessing they will receive as each box will contain the Christmas story in their own language. To check on the delivery progress, visit the Samaritan's Purse website.
