Congregational Care

> Staff Liaison: Pat Smith [317.873.6503]

Each one of us is called to help others. But how? Doing what? We have several teams available to help people in going through specific situations. These teams offer the opportunity for you to give your time and love without being solely responsible for reaching every person in need. Play to your strengths or challenge yourself to try something new. Glorify God by showing his love through your actions.

Bereavement Team

  [317.626.5647]

Everyone experiences loss, and yet somehow it's so easy to feel alone. We reach out to families and individuals during the physically and emotionally exhausting time that follows the death of a loved one. We provide practical assistance like food and transportation, serve as hospitality coordinators during funeral services, and work with the pastoral staff to bring God’s grace and love to those who have suffered loss.

Bundle of Joy

> Gail Jansen [317.581.0499]

Look around. There are babies everywhere! While adding a new family member is exciting, it can also prove to be a challenge, with sleepless nights and seemingly fewer hours in the day. We reach out to growing families by helping with the adjustment to having another child. We do this through prayer, phone calls, and by providing meals every other night for two weeks after the baby’s arrival. We also plan an annual Mother’s Day brunch and help supply moms with information and connections to other ministries at ZPC. If you would like to help welcome our newest members and support their parents, call Gail.

Meals Ministry

> Gail Jansen [317.581.0499]

You don't have to be a top chef to do this! We work closely with the Bundle of Joy, Hospital/Hospice, and Bereavement Teams to help provide lovingly prepared meals during periods of special need. Would you be willing to provide a meal for another ZPC individual or family from time to time?

Communication Connection

> Cindy Johnson [317.582.1888]

Inspiration is everywhere, but it's only inspiring someone knows about it. We gather stories about people who care for others and how lives are impacted by their actions. Then we share these stories through several media. If you have been inspired or if you want to help with gather stories from others, please email or call Cindy.

Community Assistance

> Contact the ZPC Office [317.873.6503] or  [317-733-1563]

If you've ever lived paycheck to paycheck, or if you've lived without a paycheck at all, you know that any unexpected expense can throw your world into chaos. It can feel hopeless, but it isn't.  We respond to community members with emergency financial needs. We operate a telephone hotline for people to reach us, so there are opportunities to help in different ways. We welcome both financial contributions for distribution and volunteers who can respond to our hotline requests for assistance. Please call Bob if you can help with this timely call to action.

Helping Hands: A Special Needs Ministry

> Bev Platt [317.844.6613]

God's love is for everyone. We want to make sure our kids with special needs have the opportunity to experience ZPC and learn about the awesome God who made us all. We train volunteers to assist in direct support at church and offer support for their families. Would you like to bring God's love to these very special people?

Hospital/Hospice Visitation

> Contact the ZPC Office [317.873.6503] or Becky Emery [317.575.9354]

Fear and uncertainty can take hold when faced with a medical procedure, hospital stay, or even the idea of hospice care. This ministry affirms God’s loving presence and tender mercy to ZPC family and friends in these situations. We do this through prayer and personal visits. If you would like to help, please call Becky.

Military Support Group

 [317.289.1208]

Do you know a local resident serving in Iraq or Afghanistan? Send us their name, picture, and address and the military support group will pray and support them with cards and care packages. Interested in donating items for the care packages? Items needed include: hand sanitizer, sun screen, Gold Bond foot powder, personal hygiene items, calling cards, Gatorade powder for 10 oz. of water, shower sandals, socks, cards of encouragement, and pictures & articles of current events.

Donated items may be dropped off at Zionsville American Legion or the Welcome Center at ZPC.

Prayer Ministries

> Joyce Ter Horst [317.873.9841]

We know God forgives; why is it so hard to believe that God forgives us? We focus on making restoration an integral part of every disciple. Through prayer, training, and study, we work to ensure sufficient and safe opportunities to come into God’s presence and experience physical, spiritual, emotional, and relational healing. We would love your help in reaching this goal.
